Christian and Missionary Alliance - Philippines

The Christian and Missionary Alliance as it is known today, had its beginning in a group started in 1887, in the US by a Presbyterian pastor Albert B. Simpson with some of his friends. It was called the Christian Alliance because people from different church groups (denominations) joined together as a fellowship of Christians who believed in the importance of missions and of living a Spirit-filled life. This group was known by their teaching and emphasis about the fourfold gospel; We preach Christ as Savior, Sanctifier, Healer, and Coming King. That same year A.B. Simpson started another group, The Evangelical Missionary Alliance whose purpose was to find and send missionaries to other countries. Ten years later in 1897, the two groups joined together and became the Christian and Missionary Alliance.
