COMPANY PROFILE
I. HISTORY
A gallery of art never stands on its own. Its beginnings are often connected to its owner and his background. The motives and thrusts by which it was created and incorporated are many a time hinged on the philosophy that guides it.
Having said that, here is a short background on the owners, Noli and Agnes Romero, a husband and wife team that managed and operated Renaissance since its opening in 2003. Notwithstanding the nine short years that is has been operating in SM Megamall, one of the best established venues for art in the country, the Romeros are not at all novices in their craft. Noli is an artist by calling and a collector and investment man by career. Agnes is a pottery enthusiast and a former jeweler of 17 years. They have been investors in
II. PHILOSOPHY (Motives, Thrusts and Policies)
The Philosophy that motivates and moves the gallery forward is basically to help artists by providing a venue for their artworks so that the viewing public may see art in the best light. Thereby, the gallery, the artist, the viewers and collectors will have a venue for art appreciation and art exchange.
Here are some of the Renaissance Art Gallery’s Thrusts and Policies:
1. To provide a venue for up-and-coming and established artists to exhibit their work
2. To provide art management to artists
3. To discover and nurture new talents
4. To provide brokering service for artists and collectors
5. To purchase and invest in art from time to time or when the opportunity arises
6. To assist collectors in appraising their art collection
7. To ascertain that artists receive the right compensation for their labors
8. To encourage artists to excel in their craft by joining competitions
9. To provide a wide selection for art enthusiasts, new homeowners, interior designers and corporate clients
10. To assure clients of quality artwork through strict art selection process
III. EXHIBITS, PROJECTS AND OTHER ACTIVITIES
Renaissance Art Gallery is proud that it has mounted shows here and abroad and has been a participant in Manila Art - an international art fair under the auspices of the National Commission on Culture and Arts (NCCA) and the Association of art galleries called Bonafide Art Galleries Organization (BAGO) of which Renaissance Art Gallery is a founding member.
Aside from the monthly shows at our own gallery walls and floor, some of the major shows the gallery has mounted are solo shows and group shows in the Art Center of Megamall. Major artistic shows for the past 9 years have also graced the walls of the big Art Center of SM Megamall.
We have also partnered with various groups that support worthy causes. One such successful example was a benefit show, held in cooperation with Levi’s, which aimed to raise funds for the plight of young and abused children of the Bantay Bata 163 Foundation.
The gallery has also mounted shows abroad, mainly in New York City for 2 consecutive years. Our gallery has been the springboard for shows brought to Europe and other Asian countries as well.
We also encourage our roster of artists to enter competitions and we are proud of our artists who have garnered many major awards over the past several years.
Some of our artists and their awards:
1. Maxbal – 4 major awards in 2009 including an international award in Italy
2. Sio Montera – 2 Major awards in 2010 and 2011
3. Aner Sebastian – More than 10 awards over the past several years
4. Ronaldo Ruiz - Major awards from Asian Art Awards and a Cultural Center Award
5. Orley Ypon - Several grand prizes in the past five years including an international award
6. Felix Catarata – Major national awards
7. Jojo Austria – Major national awards
8. Benjie Bisaya – Major prizes in sculpture (wood) over the past seven years
After 9 years of existence in the mainstream of art in the Philippines and with a substantial background in the art business, Renaissance Art Gallery and its owners can boast of a reputation for being reliable and competent as art managers and as a major active establishment to reckon with in the art milieu of the Philippines.

stocks, commodities, gold, diamonds and art at some point in their early careers. They have collected art for more than 24 years and have been co-incorporators of 3 other galleries since the 1990’s – namely: Ad Infinitum Gallery, Studio 241 and Gallery 101. After divesting from these past galleries, the invitation to establish Renaissance in 2003 came from SM Megamall and it was not at all a hard decision to make.II.
