Muncipality of Paranas, Samar - Philippines

Paranas is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Samar, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 27,926 people in 5,200 households. During the Philippine Commonwealth period, the town was renamed after General Wright by the new administrators. However, locals retained and till this day refer the area as Paranas.
