Municipality of Jimenez, Misamis Occidental - Philippines

Jimenez is a 4th class municipality in the province of Misamis Occidental, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 23,212 people in 4,997 households. The Municipality of Jimenez is one of the nine original towns of Misamis Occidental. LEGISLATIVE Act no. 3537 passed on November 2, 1929 divided the old province of Misamis into Misamis Occidental and Misamis Oriental. The Occidental comprised the original nine towns of Baliangao, Lopez Jaena, Tudela, Clarin, Plaridel, Oroquieta, Aloran, Jimenez, and Misamis.
