Municipality of Socorro, Oriental Mindoro - Philippines

Socorro is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Oriental Mindoro, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 37,176 people in 7,355 households. An inland town at the junction of the Pola Road, Socorro has developed into a progressive and dynamic municipality. In the last 20 years, roads have been paved, the market re-built and employment has risen. Agriculture still provides the main industry with rice, fruits, and coconut products dominating.
