Rural Bank of Angat, Inc. - Philippines

The Rural Bank of Angat (Bulacan), Inc., a one-storey edifice, located in San Roque, Poblacion, Angat, Bulacan, was established on June 2, 1966 to mobilize savings, provide access to credit and financial services in the countryside. In that same year, Rural Bank of Angat was the first Bank in the community to serve the credit needs of the people and accept deposits for safekeeping of their cash. The town folks did not want to travel to Sta. Maria or Baliuag, Bulacan which is quite far from Angat.

In the beginning, the people were hesitant or shy to visit our office because of the perception that they will borrow money or that they have much money. But later on, they realized that it was safer to deposit their cash with the Rural Bank of Angat, while the others who needed money were

able to acquire loans.

The Board of Directors are composed of nine (9) members, twenty (20) officers and staff, as itemized in our organizational chart.

The Rural Bank of Angat received two (2) awards from the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas because of the joint efforts of the Board of Directors, the Management and Staff that always render the best service and concern to the needs of our clients. They are as follows:

1. MERIT AWARD – for being among the Ten Best Managed Rural Bank
in Region III, that have attained a high level of
efficiency in its deposit generation, lending and over-
all operations.

2. ACHIEVEMENT AWARD – for being the Rural Bank of the Year for
Region III in recognition for its having achieved the
highest performance rating as determined by the
Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
