The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading and managing the engineering team to ensure successful project execution, development of innovative solutions, and continuous improvement of engineering processes. This role involves strategic planning, technical oversight, and team leadership to drive the company's engineering initiatives and achieve business goals.

Responsibilities:

Project Management

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and timelines. Allocate resources and define milestones.
  • Budget Management: Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring projects are completed within financial constraints.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Quality Control: Implement and oversee quality control processes to ensure project deliverables meet required standards.

Team Leadership

  • Team Coordination: Lead and coordinate the engineering team, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and support staff, fostering professional growth and development.
  • Performance Evaluation: Conduct performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.

Design and Analysis

  • Structural Design: Oversee and approve the design of civil and structural projects, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Technical Analysis: Conduct or supervise structural analysis and calculations to ensure the integrity and safety of designs.
  • Design Reviews: Perform regular design reviews and provide feedback to ensure optimal solutions.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Code Compliance: Ensure all designs and construction activities comply with local, state, and federal building codes and regulations.
  • Permits and Approvals: Manage the process of obtaining necessary permits and approvals from regulatory bodies.

Construction Oversight

  • Site Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with design specifications.
  • Problem Solving: Address and resolve any issues that arise during construction, ensuring minimal impact on project timelines.
  • Contractor Coordination: Liaise with contractors and subcontractors to ensure all aspects of the project are coordinated and executed as planned.

Client Relations

  • Client Communication: Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing regular updates on project status and addressing any concerns.
  • Requirement Gathering: Work closely with clients to understand their needs and requirements, translating them into technical specifications.
  • Project Presentations: Prepare and deliver presentations to clients and stakeholders, showcasing project progress and key achievements.

Innovation and Improvement

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for improving engineering processes and implement best practices.
  • Technology Integration: Stay updated with the latest engineering technologies and integrate them into project workflows where appropriate.
  • Sustainability: Promote and implement sustainable engineering practices within projects.

Documentation and Reporting

  • Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed technical documentation for all projects, including design specifications, calculations, and reports.
  • Progress Reporting: Provide regular progress reports to senior management, highlighting key milestones, challenges, and successes.
  • As-Built Documentation: Ensure accurate as-built documentation is prepared and handed over at project completion.

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering; Master's degree preferred.
* Extensive experience in civil or structural engineering, with a proven track record of
managing large-scale projects.
* Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification.
* Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD.Pro, or similar.
* Strong project management skills with experience in planning, budgeting, and risk
management.
* Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a diverse team.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Ability to adapt to changing project requirements and manage multiple projects
simultaneously
