Review of Diocese of Cubao

Terrible would be an understatement of what we had to go through to get our clearance from the chancery. All this was caused by one person who holds a position of power in approving documents and her name is Bessie.

She will make it hard for you, especially if you are living abroad and/or marrying a foreigner. One of the worst people to work with because she will keep changing what is good enough for her in the list of requirements. She gives you no explanation of the documents she wants except that it is on the list she has given you X months ago and others have met it ( though situation is not the same)

Bessie kept demanding original documents knowing in some situations, you cannot give her the original as with birth certificates issued in other countries. She knows it's different but insist that you go around a complicated route to satisfy her filing duties.

In the affidavits signed by friends and family that was witnessed by a priest, she complained that one of our witnesses was only a first cousin and not a sibling. She complained and asked us to go back to the priest with our witnesses to answer questions on the questionnaire our priest told us to ignore. She even asked me to correct something and initial even when other priests have ignored it as it was just minor details.

She made us go back and forth as she missed other documents because she focused on minor details. When we explained calmly why she cannot have the documents, specifically the embassy clearance, as it is with the city hall, she acted completely unprofessional and started SHOUTING at us.

She ruined our days whenever we went to submit documents and it seemed that's what her mission is in her life.

Bessie is completely unprofessional and undeserving of her role. She should be helping couples instead of punishing them because of personal issues. She holds a position of power that she takes advantage of.
