Company description
Euro-Asiatic Shipping, Inc. [EASi] is a family owned, second-generation crew-management company established in 1998 in order to serve the crewing needs of ship-owners and managers world wide.
The company primarily works with European principals and has experience in serving a diverse fleet of container, offshore support, bulk and general cargo vessels, cruise ships and fishing vessels. At EASi we aim to provide worry free crew-administration with our services including but not limited to recruitment and selection, crew change coordination, advanced crew planning, benefit administration, briefing and debriefing, and welfare administration.
In 2017 John Atienza took the helm from his brother Rick Atienza as Managing director. John, up until recent an active seafarer himself, has a
Initially gaining his experience in Philippine domestic trading and chartering, he later moved to join his brother in EASi as a crew manager. With the benefit of his fluency in Dutch, English, Visayan and Filipino he successfully maintained the accounts of EASi's Dutch principals.
In order to broaden his experience John, by invitation of EASi’s principals, moved to Europe in order to gain hands on experience and assist in their crewing departments. Gaining critical experience on the owners side by actively participating in the Dutch, German and Polish offices of EASi's principals, working not only with Philippine crew but also with Dutch, German and Eastern European crew. Not satisfied upon his return to the Manila office, John decided to gain hands on experience on-board, serving both on cargo vessels and cruise ships.
The family agreed that it was time for a new perspective in the company and John therefore decided it was his time to relieve his brother Rick.
Since John’s return EASi has made some bold steps; moving its head office to Cebu City, the center of the Philippines in order to be closer to the majority of its seafarers and refocusing on the core that makes EASi the company of choice for seafarers and principals. Improving its crew benefit and support programs and further strengthening the relationship with its clients.
As the crucial link in the partnership between the principal and crew, we place a heavy emphasis on our relationships with both. We believe that our seafarers and staff are our most valuable assets and the core of our business.
