The Iglesia Filipina Independiente commemorates this year the 150th birth anniversary of one of the most illustrious Filipinos of all times, His Eminence, the Most Rev. Gregorio Aglipay y Labayan. He was born on May 5, 1860 in Batac, Ilocos Norte. In his colorful lifetime, Bishop Gregorio L. Aglipay was a revered Clergyman, Religious Leader and Reformer, Military Vicar General of the Filipino Revolutionary Army, Guerilla Leader, and the Lone Clergy-Delegate to the Malolos Congress in 1898.
