Dexter’s profession was in education, but his passion was in sugar. A self-taught man, he read and practiced the art of cake making. When not busy with his professorial duties at the university, he would dabble in sugar crafting, making sugar flowers and centerpieces, then moving on to making the actual cake. Years had passed and he eventually pursued his dream by opening his first bakeshop in his hometown of Bulacan. His earliest creations were wedding and birthday cakes that were characterized by their fine royal icing and their spectacular sugar decorations. Word of this sugar genius spread, and in no time, customers from as far as the capital city were flocking to Dexter’s to bring home his unique cake creations.
