City of Tarlac, Tarlac - Philippines

Tarlac City is a 1st class city in the province of Tarlac, Philippines[1]. Tarlac provincial capitol building is shown on the back of the Philippines 500 peso note [2] that features former Senator Benigno Aquino Jr. According to the latest census, Tarlac City has a population of 314,155 people in 51,703 households. The city has been proclaimed as one of the recently declared Highly-Urbanized cities in the Philippines under the power of President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo but the decision was opposed by the provincial government.
