Executive recruitment company Monroe Consulting Group Philippines is recruiting on behalf of an expanding Financial Services company based in Quezon City. Our respected client is seeking a professional for the job of CFO to lead their Finance Team. Role is on a hybrid work set up and is based in Quezon City.

Job summary:

The Chief Financial Officer oversees all company accounting practices, including accounting departments, preparing budgets, financial reports, tax, and audit functions. S/he directs financial strategy, planning and forecasts; conferring with CEO and members of Senior Management. Studies, analyzes and reports on trends, opportunities for expansion and projection of future company growth. Leads the development of highly competent and driven Finance team.

Key job responsibilities include:

Contributes to Business Planning

  • Assists in formulating the company's future direction and supporting tactical initiatives
  • Monitors and directs the implementation of strategic business plans.
  • Develops financial and tax strategies.
  • Manages the capital request and budgeting processes. Supervises investment and raising of funds for business.
  • Oversees employee benefit plans, with particular emphasis on maximizing a cost-effective benefits package


Sets the direction and strategy for the Finance Team

  • Establishes yearly and quarterly Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) in alignment with overall business goals.
  • Guides the department in translating OKRs to sub-unit goals and action plans
  • Monitors the efficacy of finance strategies, processes and policies and takes corrective action where needed.
  • Sets performance targets for the team and identifies developmental areas as baseline for intervention (training and non-training).


Mitigates the risk/ exposure of the company

  • Understands and mitigates key elements of the company's risk profile
  • Constructs and monitors reliable financial control systems.
  • Maintains appropriate insurance coverage
  • Ensures that the company complies with all legal and regulatory requirements
  • Ensures that record keeping meets the requirements of auditors and government agencies.
  • Reviews and approves all filings with the Securities and Exchange Commission and other relevant government agencies.
  • Oversees the issuance of financial information; reports financial results to the board of directors.
  • Maintains relations with internal and external auditors and investigates their findings and recommendations as necessary.


Supports the company's growth initiatives

  • Provides consultative support to other departments for decisions that may affect company's financial standing.
  • Manages relations with investment partners; represents the company with investment bankers and investors.
  • Ensures that the company has sufficient and sustainable funding to meet operational needs and business goals.
  • Monitors cash balances and cash forecasts
  • Arranges for debt and equity financing
  • Invests funds (e.g. pension funds)
  • Supervises acquisition due diligence and negotiate acquisitions.


Leads the development of highly competent and driven Finance team.

  • Works closely with department managers/supervisors in monitoring people's progress against performance targets
  • Acts as a mentor and/or encourages the team to improve; identifies and enables opportunities for continuous development of individual skills
  • Partners with HR in identifying competency gaps and ensures that developmental areas are addressed, providing suggestions on appropriate interventions
  • Continuously looks for new or nontraditional ideas to improve personal, team and operational effectiveness.
  • Cultivates and encourages a team culture that is supportive of the company's vision, mission, goals, and strategies.

  • Perform other duties outside of current scope in support of evolving business needs

Key job requirements include:

  • A graduate of bachelor's degree in Business Courses (Business Development, Economics, Finance or Marketing)
  • Must be a certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • MA Degree or units in Business Administration or Business Management is an advantage but not a requirement
  • At least 10 years of progressive management experience in a similar or related filed; with increasing levels of responsibility for strategic planning, program/policy implementation and people management
  • Solid experience in policy development on finance and accounting practices and procedures
  • Knowledge and familiarity with a variety of the financing/lending concepts, practices and procedures
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current financial and accounting computer applications
  • Excel Skills, Microsoft Office, Presentation tools
  • Exceptional Written and Oral Communication (Writing business proposals)
  • High level of proficiency with excel and accounting systems
